2011 Welcome Letter from the President ...

Hello to all current and prospective members. We’d like to take this opportunity to update you on some of the exciting developments taking place with the National Capital Football Coaches Association (NCFCA).

NCFCA was innovative in forming a coaching focused association to provide the best access to information, education, certification and networking to all levels of amateur football coaches. This year we have taken this association to the next level again through collaboration with the National level association. We have formed a partnership through Football Canada and canadafootballchat.com (CFC) to bring access to the Football Canada Coaches Association (FCCA), a newly formed national body built upon the NCFCA model. At this point we would like to invite our members to register with the FCCA through this site. Becoming a member with the FCCA will automatically make you a member of the NCFCA at no additional cost. This will allow you to gain access to a wide variety of resources and information from across the country, while still taking advantage of events that we will be hosting locally here in Ottawa.

We are currently organizing our 2011 calendar of events, beginning with our annual Quarterback and Offensive Line camps for coaches and players. Dates and locations will be finalized soon, along with registration instructions. We are also excited about continuing our involvement with the NCCP certification and training, in the development of coaches for all levels, as well offering other camps and clinics throughout the year. Please keep checking the Courses and Clinics section on this page for details.

NCFCA QB and Lineman Camps

The 2011 NCFCA QB and Lineman Camps have been confirmed. Details are as follows:

QB Camp
Session 1: Feb 13. 5-6pm,
Session 2: Feb 27. 5-6pm,
Session 3: Mar 6. 5-6pm,
Session 4: Mar 13. 5-6pm

OL/DL Camp
Session 1: Feb 13. 6-7pm,
Session 2: Feb 27. 6-7pm,
Session 3: Mar 6. 6-7pm,
Session 4: Mar 13. 6-7pm

Location for BOTH Camps:
Ashbury College.
362 Mariposa Ave
Ottawa ON in the New Gym.

Ample parking available off of Springfield, next to the tennis courts. Players should wear helmets and shoulder pads + mouth guard.

Cost: $75 per participant

National Capital Football Coaches Association - NCFCA

U17 EASTERN ONTARIO ALL STAR COACHING STAFF

Some of the most capable and sound football minds in Eastern Canada were put together to lead the U17 Eastern Ontario All Star Team into the Football Canada Cup tournament in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. The result was a Gold Metal performance in the premier event coordinated by Football Canada for U17 Tackle football.

The outstanding coaching staff was put together by Lee Barette. Assistant coaches were temporarily seconded from some of the top CIS football programs in the country.

Lee’s staff consisted of Chris Coulson & Blaine Scatcherd of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gee's, Pat Tracey & Ryan Bechmanis of the Queen’s Golden Gales, Clint Uttley of the McGill Redmen, Danny Laramee of St Mary’s Husky’s, Jason Kana of McMaster Marauders and Richard Burey.

The coaching staff accumulated a team of the top 36, 15 and 16 year old football players from Eastern Ontario and provided them, not only with an outstanding opportunity to learn football at the highest level, but to understand what it takes to prepare for and win a national level competition.

NCFCA congratulates this outstanding group of coaches for their personal commitment and contributions to the football communities of eastern Ontario and Canada.
