| Objective |
The goal of the NCFCA QB Camp is to assist in the development of both coaches and players. We believe this program will be of significant benefit to all participants and is necessary to improve our sport. The final session of the camp will see integration of the QB's with participants from the O-Line and D-Line camps. If you require additional info, please contact any of the personnel identified below. |
| Details |
The purpose of this clinic is to work with both coaches and players. Coaches will be taught the basic mechanics of Quarterback play. They will then be shown teaching progressions and drills that help them transfer these skills to their players in a realistic and useful fashion. Players will have the opportunity to learn in small group settings. They will practice and be coached on an expansive variety of skills, not just throwing mechanics.
The first session will be coaches only, allowing the coaches time to perfect their skills before moving on to coaching the players.
Specifically the camp will focus on:
- Criteria for choosing a Quarterback,
- Pre-snap mechanics for a QB (what they should see before taking the snap),
- Center exchange mechanics (stance, hand position, etc),
- Footwork and ball handling in the run game, including mesh points, faking, etc,
- Overall mechanics for a three and five step drop, as well as semi roll and full roll. This includes not only throwing mechanics, but drops, footwork, body position, etc.
Coaches will have the opportunity to perform, teach and correct all of these skills both with their instructors, and with their players. |
